Limits of the Imagination (2019-2020)

Limits of the Imagination Too often, issues in sustainability involve complex, intersecting systems of people, economies, cultures, and natural environments that can operate across scales of space and time that challenge the limits of our imagination. It becomes too hard for us to make sense of things and to have empathy on a grand scale and to contemplate how we can take action. At the same time, it is when we are at these limits that sometime new possibilities emerge that allow for innovative solutions.

Limits of the Imagination played with these twin ideas of this phrase to present a series of films about people coming up with novel approaches to addressing seemingly huge and intractable problems. The series was co-presented with the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts’ Green Team, and Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center.
