Soundings (2021-2024)

Soundings — To take a sounding is to measure the depths and map out the world below the surface of water. Water is a world unto itself and yet it is so inextricably linked to all of life that it is critical we take soundings to understand our relationships — biological, social, cultural, economic — to water.

Soundings, presented in partnership with Penn State’s Water Council, explores the many different ways we interact with water and helps to highlight Penn State’s leadership in a breadth of water-related fields. From exploring environmental justice issues of access to clean, safe water to celebrating the importance of water in cultures around the world, these films invite us to take soundings of our liquid planet.
